Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Virginia is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to join the East Engineering Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team in Dulles or McLean. This 100% onsite role focuses on spacecraft structures analysis and development within a demanding, high-security environment.

Responsibilities span static/dynamic structural analysis, requirements review, data selection, and design optimization for space applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with a focus on Structural Analysis is highly preferred.
• Active Top Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Ability to perform structural engineering tasks for analysis, design, and testing of structures.
• Experience with Mechanical Analysis tools such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS or HYPERMESH.

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
• Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Select appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determine principles, design path forward and compute engineering characteristics to meet space requirements.
• Release results as technical documents after reviews by senior team members.
• Develop innovative solutions and elaborate on design concepts.
• Evaluate completed designs with supervisor and other technical groups, and modify designs as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in STEM with focus in Structural Analysis (preferred)
