Northrop Grumman in McLean, VA is hiring a Structural Analysis Engineer to define the art of the possible for spacecraft systems. This 100% onsite role requires leading mechanical analysis work on structures and subsystems, with a focus on static/dynamic testing and design optimization.

You will use NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or HYPERMESH, and you must hold an active Top Secret clearance. The position supports a 9/80 work schedule and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM; Mechanical Engineering or Structural Analysis preferred.
• Active Top Secret clearance at time of application.
• Experience with structural engineering tasks: analysis, design or testing of structures.
• Experience with NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH (or equivalent).

Responsabilidades

• Performing static and dynamic structure analysis.
• Reviewing requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Selecting appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determining the technical principles involved, identifying the design path forward and computing the engineering characteristics to ensure consistency with the specifications design needs and requirements of space applications.
• Releasing results as “technical documents” after review by the senior members of the team.
• Developing innovative solutions and elaborating on design concepts.
• Evaluating completed designs with supervisor and other technical groups, and making modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design.
