Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Gilbert, AZ seeks a Structural Engineer at Level 3 or Level 4 to design and integrate spacecraft structures. You will use Creo Parametric to develop detailed layouts, create manufacturing documentation, and support flight-ready assemblies.

Collaboration with customers, program teams, and suppliers is essential for success. The role requires 3–5+ years (Level 3) or 6–8+ years (Level 4) of engineering experience, along with DoD Top Secret/SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of engineering experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD model-based software, specifically Creo Parametric.
• Experience creating and reviewing drawings with GD&T in 2D and 3D MBDs.
• Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and analysis utilizing CAD software.
• Apply GD&T, manufacturing design principles, and spacecraft component layouts.
• Leverage mechanics of metallic and composite materials, plus stress calculations, to optimize designs.
• Support spacecraft integration and testing phases.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with program goals and deliverables.
