Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer – Level 3 or 4 for on-site work in the VA area. You will perform mechanical and structural analysis on spacecraft systems, collaborating with experienced engineers to define design concepts and verify performance.

The role requires a STEM degree and a Top Secret clearance, with hands-on experience in NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS or HYPERMESH, and MATLAB familiarity. 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM required or closely related field.
Must hold active Top Secret security clearance at time of application.
Experience performing structural analysis tasks on mechanical structures and spacecraft subsystems.
Experience with NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS or HYPERMESH tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
Review requirements for materials, structure systems, and subsystems.
Select technical information from applicable products and data.
Determine engineering principles and design paths to meet space requirements.
Release results as technical documents after senior review.
Develop innovative solutions and refine design concepts.
Evaluate completed designs with supervisors and other teams and modify as needed.
