Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with mentors to develop new concepts, build and test hardware, and support the spacecraft integration team. The role emphasizes applying engineering concepts to real-space hardware and learning through hands-on projects.

You will collaborate with a small, high-performing team, attend regular mentorship sessions, and participate in tech talks and intern events to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Responsibilities

• Work closely with your mentor and other team members to apply your knowledge and grow technically and professionally.
• Join a fast-paced group to apply engineering concepts to real challenges and deliver results.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
• Network with interns and employees through tech talks and events.
