Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is offering a Test Engineering Intern position in Avionics for Summer 2027. Based on-site, you will support the Space Systems team as they develop software that tests hardware for space missions and work closely with production and engineering to debug design and manufacturing issues.

You will learn through a mentor-led program, attend technical talks, and contribute to real engineering projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering or electrical engineering with at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, projects).

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge to solve real challenges in a fast-paced avionics test environment.
• Work with mentors to lead development projects with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver results and attend 1:1s with mentors.
• Participate in tech talks and intern networking events.
