Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation invites an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Long Beach site. You will engage in avionics hardware development and testing for spacecraft programs, collaborating with engineers across disciplines from requirements through production.

You’ll work with mentors in a fast-paced team, attending regular check-ins, and gaining hands-on experience with Altium and test equipment, while exploring career growth and industry talks.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree program in engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, physics or math with at least one semester remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or project)
• GPA of 3.5 or above would be nice to have
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or project) would be nice to have
• Experience with schematic capture tool (preferably Altium)
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Knowledge of programming languages: C/C++, Python, VHDL, Verilog

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and testing avionics hardware for spacecraft programs
• Collaborate with engineers across disciplines on hardware development from requirements to production
• Work with mentors to apply engineering concepts to real challenges
• Participate in design reviews, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and documentation
