Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Spring 2027. You will work with a fast-paced team to develop and test space hardware, apply engineering concepts to solve real challenges, and grow technically and professionally under mentorship.

The role requires on-site, full-time commitment for 12 weeks, with compensation at CA pay range and relocation stipend potential. Strong CAD/CAM capabilities and CAD tools are preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or PhD in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical or Mechanical Engineering with at least one semester remaining.
• GPA 3.0 or above required.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internships, labs, or projects) welcome.

Responsibilities

• Support design and hardware development for space hardware.
• Work with mentors to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend regular one-on-one meetings to track progress.
