Job summary
Varda Space Industries, Inc. seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team to shape spacecraft behavior in orbit and deliver reliable software from requirements through testing and flight support.
You will own all phases of software development for the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule, writing well-structured C++ firmware on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux platforms, and building highly reliable systems for spaceflight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in spacecraft or safety-critical software development.
- Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
- Proficiency in C++ and strong language concepts.
Responsibilities
- Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
- Own all aspects of software development from design to integration.
- Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
- Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software in C++.
- Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality via V&V.
