Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Spring 2027. You will support the Space Systems Division by producing flight mechanisms for Separation Systems and collaborate with mentors and engineers to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.

You will participate in technical talks, network with interns and staff, and advance your professional growth through hands-on projects and regular progress updates.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Responsibilities

• Work closely with your mentor and department to apply knowledge and grow skills both technically and professionally
• Apply engineering concepts to real challenges in a fast-paced environment
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors to facilitate success and learning and provide progress updates
