Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 at our Long Beach, CA site. You will work with mentors to apply engineering concepts, develop hardware concepts, build and test designs, and deliver fully tested hardware to spacecraft integration teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ months of engineering experience, GPA 3.0+, and are enrolled in a relevant degree program (Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical). Preference for CAD/CAM proficiency and GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s/master’s/doctoral program in relevant engineering and at least one semester remaining after internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or projects).
• GPA of 3.5 or above would be a plus.
• 6+ months of applied engineering experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support development of concepts and hardware for space systems.
• Build and test designs to ensure they withstand extreme space environments.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver hardware to spacecraft integration.
