Job summary

Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Silver Spring, MD. You will work on producing flight mechanisms for Separation Systems and collaborate closely with mentors to apply engineering concepts in a fast-paced, high‑performing team.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an engineering/physics/math program with at least one semester remaining, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and have 3+ months of applied engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support the Space Systems Division in producing flight mechanisms for Separation Systems.
• Work with a mentor and department to apply engineering concepts and grow technical skills.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning while providing progress updates.
