Job summary

Blue Origin on the Space Coast, Florida seeks a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to design fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the lifecycle, from SRR through PAR, under senior guidance. You will grow technically while delivering meaningful work on world-class test infrastructure with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role (0-3 to 8+ years depending on level).
  • Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic, propellant, and high-pressure gas systems components.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and BPVC; ability to read drawings and P&IDs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the lifecycle.
  • Develop and release engineering deliverables including P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, and analyses.
  • Apply fluid mechanics and structural principles to high-pressure systems design.
  • Design mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
  • Support hazard analyses such as PHA and HAZOPs; participate in design and build reviews.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements; track cost and schedule inputs.
  • Support testing, cleaning, and passivation to industry cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain engineering deliverables in Windchill; comply with ASME BPVC and related codes.
