Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Ground System Fluid/Mechanical Engineer II to design and develop fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities. You will contribute across the full system lifecycle, from SRR through PAR, delivering P&IDs, models, drawings, and analyses under experienced engineers.

You will apply fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration principles to high‑pressure, cryogenic, and propellant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in fluid or mechanical systems or test operations (Level II) or equivalent.
• Foundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and system integration.
• Knowledge of cryogenic, propellant, and high‑pressure gas components and typical piping.
• Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and BPVC.
• Ability to read and create P&IDs and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of fluid and mechanical systems for ground test facilities across the lifecycle.
• Produce P&IDs, models, drawings, eBOMs, and analyses under senior guidance.
• Apply fluid mechanics and structural analysis to high‑pressure and cryogenic systems.
• Design mechanical test fixtures and structural supports
• Support hazard analyses and design reviews (IDR, FDR) and PAR readiness
• Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements and cost/schedule inputs
• Assist with on‑site fabrication, installation, and start‑up activities
• Maintain engineering deliverables in Windchill and communicate risks clearly
