Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD seeks an early career Electro-Mechanical Engineer – Level 2 to join our Intelligence Systems team. The candidate will lead mechanical design, analysis, integration, and testing for RF/EO/Digital/Power designs in satellite programs.

The role requires a STEM bachelor’s with 2+ years’ experience, expert Creo/Siemens NX skills, strong documentation ability, and TS clearance eligibility. Location is Linthicum with 10% travel; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of engineering experience; Master’s degree in STEM.
• Proven proficiency with mechanical hardware design in RF/EO sensor or antenna assemblies and electro-mechanical subsystems.
• Expert-level use of 3D CAD tools (Creo, Siemens NX).
• Ability to work independently and develop clear documentation and review materials.
• Top Secret clearance eligibility (no clearance required to start but must be able to obtain and maintain).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of hardware development across design, CAD modeling, fabrication, integration, and testing.
• Ensure mechanical requirements deliver cost, schedule, and technical performance for space programs.
• Present technical solutions and data at milestone reviews.
• Research and develop testing procedures and tools for space hardware conformance.
• Read schematics, diagrams, and manuals to analyze hardware configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and troubleshoot issues during integration and test.
• Propose improvements and optimization based on findings.
