Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive cross-functional planning for software programs, coordinating with software, hardware, science and product teams from concept through launch.

You will develop schedules, track risks, manage resources, and communicate updates to stakeholders in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment. The role combines process discipline with the autonomy to enable rapid, high-quality decisions in a hybrid on-site role at our San Jose, CA office.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar technical role.
• 3+ years of experience managing or coordinating software development projects.
• Strong technical background with knowledge of software development methods, tools, and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional planning, scheduling, and risk management across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-functional planning and execution for software programs across software, hardware, science and product teams.
• Develop schedules, milestones, and track dependencies; identify gaps and risks.
• Coordinate resource planning, capacity and staffing decisions; unblock issues and communicate with stakeholders.
• Coordinate software releases; ensure readiness criteria and manage handoffs between teams.
• Provide concise updates to leadership on progress, changes, risks, and decisions.
• Improve processes and tooling to scale development efforts and decision quality.
