Job summary

Sophia Space is seeking a Technical Program Manager to own the software milestone execution rhythm from planning through release, partnering with software leadership and engineering leads to ensure successful deliveries.

Based in Pasadena with hybrid options, the TPM will coordinate across platform infra, runtime services, and mission workloads, guiding risk, schedule, and quality trade-offs

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of combined professional experience in software-related roles.
• Two or more years of technical program management or release management experience.
• Ability to engage with senior engineers on architecture, interfaces, and dependencies.
• Experience managing complex software programs with multiple owners and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication, risk management, and release readiness sense.

Responsibilities

• Own the software milestone execution rhythm from planning through release.
• Define integrated program plans with software leadership and engineering leads.
• Translate milestone goals into coordinated execution plans across platform infrastructure, runtime services, and firmware.
• Maintain an accurate execution record covering progress, ownership, dependencies, risks, decisions and release status.
• Establish intake, triage, and risk-management practices with clear owners and actions.
• Coordinate software release readiness by defining criteria, identifying gaps, and presenting an integrated assessment.
• Coordinate with business development and product teams on capability needs, schedules and scope.
