Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Product Manager to own the flight software platform and onboard compute, reporting to the Director of Product Management. You’ll define end-to-end capabilities and a road map to meet customer mission needs for our spacecraft, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration across engineering disciplines.

You will operate in a hybrid role, working on-site in San Jose, CA three days a week, and own customer-driven requirements while driving product strategy and execution in

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Product Management experience in technically complex environments.
• Experience in flight software, embedded systems, robotics, or adjacent deep-tech software domains.
• Experience working cross-functionally with multiple engineering teams at once.
• Proven ability to navigate uncertain environments with evolving requirements and schedules.
• Demonstrated track record delivering major features spanning months of effort.
• Independent execution across multiple concurrent workstreams; strong cross-organizational collaboration.
• Ability to translate customer mission needs into detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmaps for the flight software platform and onboard compute.
• Define and prioritize features that improve product quality, schedule adherence, or customer value.
• Author clear PRDs, drive alignment, and follow through reliably.
• Partner with leadership to develop strategy for build/buy decisions.
• Conduct customer interviews and translate insights into roadmaps and artifacts.
• Collaborate with flight software, hardware, and mission systems engineering teams.
