Muon Space, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to drive cross-functional planning for the IR Data Product Team. You will develop schedules, manage risks, and coordinate software, hardware, science, and product efforts from concept to launch.

This hybrid role requires on-site work in San Jose three days per week, focusing on scaling development processes and delivering high-quality data pipeline capabilities to power Muon’s mission.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar technical role.
• 3+ years of experience managing or coordinating software development projects.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and optimize software project management processes.
• Strong technical background with cloud computing, data pipelines, or data science.

Responsibilities

• Program Planning & Roadmapping: Define objectives, scope, milestones, and success criteria.
• Scheduling & Execution Management: Build and maintain project timelines and track dependencies.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify risks, coordinate mitigation, and drive resolution.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration across software, hardware, science, and product teams.
• Communication & Reporting: Provide updates on progress, changes, risks, and decisions.
• Process & Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement better practices.
• Resource & Capacity Planning: Forecast resource needs and support prioritization.
• Release Planning & Readiness: Coordinate software releases and communicate expectations.
