Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into turbomachinery hardware prepared for test, qualification, and flight. You will develop new manufacturing processes, improve quality and reduce cost, lead DFMA and PFMEA studies, and collaborate with design, build, and test teams across facilities.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering and 3+ years of experience in hardware manufacturing;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of applicable experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Experience manufacturing hardware (castings, forgings, AM components, welding, machining, testing).
• Experience starting new manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop new turbomachinery component manufacturing processes.
• Drive and enhance turbomachinery assembly processes.
• Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into functional hardware.
• Prepare turbopumps for test, qualification, and flight.
• Identify and deploy manufacturing methods to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen design-build-test feedback.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions covering reception, fabrication, assembly, test, integration, refurbishment.
• Lead manufacturing sequences and support schedule development.
