Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into scalable propulsion hardware production. You will support subassembly and final assembly, including COPV tank and MLI work, while developing MWIs and ensuring quality across the production line.

You will lead DFMA initiatives, participate in FMEA, and collaborate with design, test, and operations to drive continuous improvements, all while aligning with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering roles.
  • Availability to work A-Shift (M-TH, 5:00AM-3:30PM) with flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent into propulsion hardware manufacturing steps.
  • Support propulsion subassembly and final assembly activities.
  • Execute and oversee special process work instructions (COPV tank installation, heater installation, MLI blanket installation, harness routing).
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions (MWIs) for propulsion hardware.
  • Disposition and investigate discrepancies; implement corrective actions through MRB and CAPA processes.
  • Create redlines and engineering changes to improve producibility and design intent.
  • Perform engineering drawing review and approve manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct FMEA studies to strengthen feedback between design, build, and test.
  • Drive DFMA across propulsion product life cycle and lead process improvements.
  • Ensure work aligns with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.
