Job summary

Ursa Major Technologies seeks a Summer 2027 In‑Space Propulsion Engineering Internship on the In‑Space Propulsion team. You’ll support spacecraft propulsion design, development, manufacturing, test, and production on a small, fast‑moving group, gaining hands‑on experience while contributing to challenging engineering problems.

You’ll have ownership and the chance to influence decisions in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Junior or above by May 2027 in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with fluids, mechanics of materials, rocket propulsion, or advanced classes.
• Able to perform first principles analysis in mechanical, thermal, or fluid scenarios.
• Hands-on build/test lifecycle experience (design–build–test).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• CAD software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, manufacturing, and test of spacecraft propulsion components (thrusters, tanks, valves, fluid systems).
• Rapid-prototyping solutions to complex problems to meet internship goals.
• Collaborate across disciplines within Ursa Major to drive success.
