Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is offering a Summer 2027 In-Space Propulsion Engineering Internship on the In-Space Propulsion team. You’ll work on spacecraft propulsion design, development, manufacturing, test and production under a small, fast-moving team.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and ownership, performing design, analysis, and rapid prototyping to meet internship goals while collaborating across disciplines. Must be a junior or above by May 2027 in mechanical/aerospace/manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Junior or above by May 2027; related coursework in fluids, mechanics of materials, rocket propulsion.
• Able to perform first-principles analysis in mechanical/thermal/fluids.
• Hands-on build and test lifecycle experience; teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience with CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, manufacturing, and test of spacecraft propulsion components including thrusters, tanks, valves, and fluid systems
• Rapid-prototyping solutions to complex problems to achieve project goals within the internship
• Collaboration across multiple disciplines within the company to drive success
