Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Summer 2026 intern to contribute to the design, analysis, integration and test of a hypersonic vehicle. You will work on structures, propulsion components and associated tooling, collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams.

The role requires enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with hands-on CAD/FEA experience and a passion for propulsion technology.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in design and analysis of structures and components.
• Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN) for structural analysis.
• Proficiency in incompressible and compressible fluid mechanics.
• Experience with CAD tools (CATIA/NX/SolidWorks).
• Understanding of manufacturing techniques including composites layup, machining, additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of hypersonic structures and propulsion components.
• Develop tooling, fixtures and ground-support equipment.
• Perform structural and fluids analysis on components.
• Develop vehicle manufacturing and systems integration workflows.
• Conduct subcomponent development and acceptance tests.
