Job summary

Ursa Major Technologies in Colorado is seeking a Summer 2027 Test Engineering Intern to support a fast-moving test team. You will gain hands-on experience solving challenging propulsion engineering problems and take ownership on projects within the Test Operations Organization.

You'll work on engine testing from control room and field, stand and engine checkouts, and developing fluid systems to support sub-component and engine-level objectives, while emphasizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical, electrical, aerospace or similar engineering.
• Must be an academic Junior and above by May 2027.
• Excellent first principles analysis for mechanical and/or fluid scenarios.
• Hands-on build and/or test experience (design → build → test lifecycle).
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to communicate in a group setting.
• Drive to continuously improve technical and team skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform rocket engine testing from the control room and from the field.
• Perform test stand and engine checkouts to verify proper functionality.
• Own several projects to design and fabricate fluid systems for test objectives.
• Operate and modify stand systems such as fluid/electrical systems and supporting structures.
• Develop methods to increase test cadence, fidelity, and stand capability while maintaining safety.
