Job summary

SAIC's Horizon program in El Segundo, California, seeks a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to support the U.S. Space Force mission by developing and sustaining space mission operation simulations and trade studies.

You will join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team, define requirements, implement simulation tools, and integrate them into automated analysis workflows to inform acquisition decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, astronautics, mathematics, or physics plus two years of experience.
• At least one programming language: MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, or C++.
• Experience with live/virtual/constructive simulation techniques.
• Experience with simulation environments such as STK, AFSIM, GMAT, or FreeFlyer.
• MATLAB/Simulink or other simulation scripting languages.
• Ability to prepare and deliver presentations and technical demonstrations.
• Knowledge of satellite orbital mechanics, maneuvers, remote sensing, or space communications.
• Equivalent experience with airborne systems is applicable.
• Familiarity with file management, network shares, software installations, and command line interfaces.
• Security clearance eligibility and polygraph willingness.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a fast-paced multidisciplinary mission operations team informing Space Force decisions.
• Develop and test simulation applications and integrate mission tools into automated trade study workflows.
• Define requirements, specify designs, and implement space mission operation simulations and trade studies.
