Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks a Software Engineer to develop space combat power and multi‑domain simulation software supporting force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment, and Space Force testing.

You will lead junior engineers on projects within the Space Protection and Response Solution program, including requirements capture and architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (3 years with a Master's).
• Proficient in C++ and able to compile, link, and debug C++ applications.
• Experience with constructive agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation.
• Basic space domain knowledge (coordinate systems, orbital propagation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with team via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira.
• Performs code reviews and maintains high quality standards.
• Collaborates with government leadership to align team goals.
• Captures requirements and feedback from customers.
• Updates status and presents progress to leadership and customers.
• Performs multidisciplinary research to support modeling objectives.
• Contributes to simulation software architecture discussions.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs space simulation software.
