Job summary

SAIC is seeking an Orbit Analyst and Space Modeling professional to join the Air Force, Space and Intel Business Group, supporting space domain missions. This role focuses on prototyping, designing, and integrating tools for orbit dynamics, data analytics, and space mission simulations.

You will work to progress concepts informing missions and potential acquisitions. In this position, you will develop algorithms and modeling tools, applying skills in Java, Python, or C++, and support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline is required.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing space vehicle or orbit dynamics support.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using orbit analysis tools such as STK, Free Flyer or other orbital software modeling packages.
  • Hands-on experience creating algorithms and engineering tools for data processing and modeling and simulation using Java, Python or C++.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of mission data to promote awareness of space domain threats and system vulnerabilities.
  • Formulate and interpret problems in mathematical or computational terms.
  • Design and evaluate mathematical models and algorithms for orbit dynamics and data analytics.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software algorithms for processing-intensive analytics and data sets.
  • Advance space-based models for integration into simulation scenarios.
  • Create tools and applications using various software languages and libraries.
  • Test and support a Modeling & Simulation framework for analytic work.
