Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries seeks a Software Engineer to develop space combat power and multi-domain simulation software. You will support force structure planning, synthetic environments, and space systems research, while leading projects within the Space Protection and Response Solution program.

You will manage junior engineers, interact with government leadership, and coordinate with customers. A strong C++ background and a TS/SCI clearance are required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years with Masters; 0 with PhD; or 9 years with HS diploma.
• Proficient in C++ with strong understanding of compiling and debugging.
• Completion of a technical coding challenge in C++.
• Experience with constructive agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation.
• Basic space knowledge including coordinate systems and orbital propagation.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile development environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interact with team via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira.
• Perform code reviews and maintain high quality.
• Collaborate with government leadership to stay on course.
• Capture requirements and feedback from customers.
• Provide status updates to leadership and customers.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research to support objectives.
• Contribute to team vision and architecture discussions.
• Design, develop, test, and debug space simulation software.
