Job summary

Defense Unicorns is seeking mission-driven Mission Directors to spearhead full-lifecycle capture efforts across the Space ecosystem. You will own the acquisition of new Mission Heroes from early qualification through proposal, driving win strategies, forming key partnerships, and aligning technical solutions to mission outcomes.

This pivotal role shapes pipeline, revenue targets, and national security impact, with responsibilities spanning RFI/RFP support, pricing strategy, and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to win complex technical pursuits through the full capture lifecycle.
• Knowledge of Space Force acquisition processes (FAR-based contracts, OTAs, SBIR, IDIQ).
• Excellent communication and leadership across technical and executive audiences.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to deliver proposals.
• Familiarity with software factories, DevSecOps, cybersecurity or edge deployments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive new Mission Hero acquisition across the Space ecosystem.
• Develop and execute capture plans and win strategies.
• Engage government stakeholders, primes, and ecosystem partners.
• Understand DoD funding paths and acquisition timelines.
• Identify and lead teaming arrangements.
• Translate capabilities into persuasive win themes.
• Support RFI/RFP responses with market intelligence and pricing input.
• Prepare reports on BD activities and KPIs.
• Represent the company at industry and government events.
