Job summary

Redwire Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Albuquerque design team. The role focuses on state‑of‑the‑art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and defense applications.

You will own specific mechanical systems, develop 3D designs in SolidWorks, and create manufacturing drawings with GD&T. Candidates should have a bachelor’s in engineering and 3+ years in high‑reliability industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years in Aerospace, Space, or high-reliability industries
• Proven SolidWorks experience
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing
• Familiarity with materials and surface treatments for space applications
• Experience with mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals
• Some travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Review and establish program requirements
• Own mechanical systems and coordinate cross-team interactions
• Develop and track schedules to meet deadlines
• Develop 3D mechanism designs in SolidWorks
• Create manufacturing drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Prepare design review packages (PowerPoint)
• Maintain requirements traceability in Excel or Jama
• Assemble prototype and flight hardware in a lab
• Interface with customers, subcontractors, and manufacturers
• Adhere to ITAR and QA processes
