Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 5+ years in aerospace or high-reliability industries.
• Experienced with SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing.
• Familiarity with materials and surface treatments for space.
• Mechanical design fundamentals.
• Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Review and establish program requirements.
• Own mechanical systems and coordinate cross-team interactions.
• Develop and track schedules and meet deadlines.
• Create 3D mechanism designs in SolidWorks.
• Select materials and surface treatments.
• Perform preliminary analysis.
• Create manufacturing drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Create design review packages using PowerPoint.
• Maintain requirements matrices in Excel or Jama.
• Create assembly and build documentation in Word.
• Defend designs to engineers and customers.
• Assemble prototype and flight hardware in lab.
• Interface with customers, subcontractors, manufacturers.
• Operate in dynamic, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Maintain courteous behavior and professional communication.
