Job description

Are you an early-career engineer looking to help shape the future of satellite communications?

An innovative space technology company is seeking a Mechanisms(Design) Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of precision mechanical systems for advanced aerospace applications. This role will contribute to both new product development and ongoing improvements, ensuring successful delivery of hardware from concept through integration and testing. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, innovative, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating cross‑functionally to bring complex mechanical systems from design to deployment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and mechanisms, including performing analysis and trade studies to optimize performance, efficiency, and manufacturability
  • Execute detailed engineering design work in accordance with established standards, procedures, and program requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support system integration, assembly, and testing activities
  • Partner with external vendors by defining requirements, reviewing designs, and tracking development progress
  • Develop and maintain mechanical documentation, including requirements, drawings, interface definitions, and test procedures
  • Define and validate mechanical interfaces between subsystems and components
  • Support qualification testing (e.g., vibration, thermal, environmental) and evaluate results
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Present technical findings and design updates during reviews with cross functional teams and stakeholders
  • Identify and implement process improvements, new technologies, or innovative design approaches

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, preferably involving complex systems or hardware development
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams
  • Proven problem‑solving mindset and sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of all documentation and deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
  • CAD Tools: Experience with industry‑standard 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar)
  • Analysis Tools: Familiarity with engineering analysis methods (e.g., FEA)
  • Data/Documentation Systems: Experience with PLM/PDM systems
  • General Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in both office and laboratory environments
  • Capable of working hands‑on with hardware, test setups, and precision instruments

This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation developing cutting‑edge space technology with real‑world global impact.
