Redwire Space is seeking a Temporary Mechanical Engineer in Albuquerque, NM for up to 90 days with a potential conversion to full-time. The role focuses on designing state-of-the-art spacecraft mechanisms, deploying 3D designs in SolidWorks, and coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in high-reliability aerospace sectors, familiarity with Space-grade materials, and strong design-for-manufacturing fundamentals. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in Aerospace, Space, Energy, Semiconductor, Subsea, or other high reliability industries.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and GD&T; knowledge of materials and surface treatments for space applications.
• Experience with mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals; some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Review and establish program requirements
• Own mechanical systems and coordinate cross-team interactions
• Develop 3D mechanism designs primarily in SolidWorks
• Create manufacturing drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Interface with customers, subcontractors, and manufacturers
• Follow internal QA processes per AS9100 standards
