Job summary

Redwire is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Space Missions team in Albuquerque. The role focuses on state-of-the-art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile defense applications.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in aerospace/high‑reliability industries, strong SolidWorks skills, and experience with manufacturing drawings, materials, and QA processes. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• /Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 3+ years in Aerospace or related high-reliability industries/
• /Experienced with SolidWorks/
• /Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing/
• /Familiarity with materials and surface treatments for space/
• /Experienced with mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals/
• /Some travel may be required/

Responsibilities

• Review and establish program requirements
• Functionally own mechanical systems and coordinate cross-team interfaces
• Develop and track schedules and meet deadlines
• Develop 3D mechanism designs primarily in SolidWorks
• Select materials and surface treatments
• Perform preliminary analysis
• Create manufacturing drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5
• Create design review packages typically using Microsoft PowerPoint
• Create and maintain requirements compliance matrices in Microsoft Excel or Jama
• Directly assemble prototype and flight hardware in a laboratory environment
• Assemble sensors and operate test equipment
• Follow internal QA processes and procedures per AS9100
• Interface with customers, subcontractors, and manufacturers
• Operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
• Take pride in courteous behavior and professional communication
