Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of quick disconnects and valves for the New Glenn program. You will oversee components from concept through post‑flight serviceability in a leadership role.

The position requires 3+ years in aerospace fluid/mechanical systems, Creo and ANSYS, and GD&T expertise. Relocation and travel up to 10% are possible as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing fluid, mechanical, or electro‑mechanical systems for aerospace or similar high‑reliability applications.
• Proficiency in Creo or similar 3D CAD software and ANSYS or similar FEA tools.
• Experience creating engineering drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Knowledge of valves, regulators, or related components.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Passion for safe human spaceflight and alignment with Blue Origin's mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of component systems from requirements through design, development, verification, qualification, and post‑flight serviceability.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify, procure, and integrate high‑quality components.
• Perform sizing, material selection, and analyses under pressure, vibration, temperature, and mechanical loads; support flight hardware fabrication and testing.
