Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an engineer to lead the design, analysis, development, and qualification of critical mechanical components for the New Glenn program. You will own the lifecycle from requirements through post-flight serviceability, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure high-quality, flight-ready hardware.

The role emphasizes thermo-fluid, structural analyses, and material selection under demanding aerospace conditions, with a focus on safety and mission success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years designing fluid, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems for aerospace or high-reliability applications.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
  • Experience creating engineering drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee lifecycle of component systems from requirements to post-flight serviceability.
  • Ensure cost, schedule, and performance targets are met via planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to identify and integrate high-quality components.
  • Perform sizing, material selection, and analyses for performance under varied loads.
  • Support fabrication, installation, and testing of flight hardware with suppliers.
