Apex is seeking a Cybersecurity Lead to manage the Security Operations Center, ensuring proactive threat detection and incident response while aligning with IT and compliance.

Reporting to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity, you will lead a team of SOC analysts and engineers, overseeing tooling, metrics, and strategic planning.

This role demands 7+ years in cybersecurity, TS/SCI clearance, and a track record of securing critical systems in a fast-growing aerospace startup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cybersecurity operations with 2–3 years in a leadership role.
• TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
• Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDP/IDS, CASB/SASE, NESSUS, BURP SUITE, firewalls) and scripting languages.

Responsabilités

• Lead SOC team, overseeing hiring, training, and performance.
• Oversee incident detection and response, triage and containment.
• Conduct threat hunting and deep-dive investigations.
• Optimize SOC tools and develop security policies and playbooks.
• Produce KPIs and executive reports on threats and posture.
• Support compliance initiatives (CMMC, ISO 27001) and IT tickets.
