Job summary

Apex is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to run the Security Operations Center (SOC) and safeguard information assets. You will lead a team of SOC analysts and engineers, coordinate incident response, and drive threat hunting and vulnerability management in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity and collaborate with IT and compliance to align security operations with business goals, while ensuring 24/7 coverage and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in cybersecurity ops with leadership experience.
• Requires TS/SCI clearance; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency with SIEM/EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, CASB/SASE, and vulnerability tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead SOC team: hiring, training, evaluations, and development.
• Oversee threat detection, incident response, triage, containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis.
• Perform proactive threat hunting and malware analysis; integrate threat intel.
• Optimize SOC tools and security policies, automate where possible.
• Produce KPIs, dashboards and executive threat reports.
• Support compliance efforts including risk assessments and audits.
