Job summary

Apex is seeking a Cybersecurity Lead Engineer to manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) and safeguard our information assets. You will lead a team of SOC analysts and engineers, overseeing detection, response, and post-incident analysis to minimize risk.

Responsibilities include threat hunting, malware analysis, tool optimization (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR), and ensuring compliance with security standards. This role reports to the Director of IT & Cybersecurity and is based in Playa Vista.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cybersecurity operations experience, including leadership.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC GCIH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
• Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, CASB/SASE, NESSUS, BURP SUITE) and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 24/7 SOC team across analysts and engineers.
• Oversee incident detection, triage, containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis.
• Coordinate threat hunting, malware analysis, and investigations to improve detection.
