Job summary

Apex seeks a Cybersecurity Lead (TS) to own security design across our cybersecurity infrastructure in a hands-on role collaborating with IT, Engineering, and Operations. You will translate NIST/NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 into concrete designs, work with CrowdStrike, Tenable, SIEM, and ensure secure architecture from the ground up.

Responsibilities include creating corporate and development security architecture, enabling ATO processes, and coordinating with network teams on Palo Alto

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance required at time of hire.
• US Citizenship required.
• 5+ years in security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security, Microsoft identity, network security, endpoint security, vulnerability management, logging.
• Experience across cloud, SaaS, endpoints, networks, servers and software services.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2; map control to implementation.
• Ability to produce architecture diagrams and security guidance for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create security architecture for Apex corporate and development environments.
• Translate NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 requirements into technical designs and implementation steps.
• Work with CrowdStrike, Tenable, SIEM, and endpoint management tools to identify and remediate gaps.
• Support ATO and other security activities with architecture docs, control implementations, and guidance.
• Facilitate conversations with network and infrastructure teams on Palo Alto architecture and remote access.
• Define CUI boundaries, network diagrams, and data flows as systems and programs change.
