Job summary

U.S. Bank's Merchant Payment Services is seeking a Direct Sales Payment Consultant for the Southeast territory (GA, FL, NC, SC, TN). The role is home-based with travel and focuses on acquiring new merchant clients, building a personal market presence, and delivering tailored payment solutions.

You will prospect, network, and develop relationships with local owners and decision-makers across Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, and Services, supported by the bank's resources to win business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 2–3 years of relevant outside sales experience.
• Willingness to travel for in-person client meetings.
• Preferred: 3–5 years of outside sales with hunter-based success.
• Ability to source and build a pipeline independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a true hunter, identifying and pursuing new business daily.
• Generate most of your pipeline through self-sourced prospecting (cold calls, networking, referrals).
• Meet with owners and decision-makers in the field to develop opportunities.
• Develop a territory growth strategy and expand market penetration.
• Conduct consultative presentations, needs assessments, and demos.
• Negotiate pricing, structure proposals, and close deals.
• Maintain accurate records of activity and forecast in Salesforce.
