Job summary

Village on the Park Plano is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to produce high-quality meals for our senior residents. The role requires leadership in the kitchen, menu development, and ensuring nutritional standards for a compassionate community.

You will collaborate with the Executive Chef and Dining Director to craft menus, train staff, and maintain a clean, compliant kitchen. This full-time position is based in Plano with holiday and PTO benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with culinary school training.
• 3–5 years as a cook or 1+ year as Sous Chef.
• Knowledge of diverse cooking procedures and methods.
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures.
• Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Executive Chef/Director of Dining to create diverse menus.
• Develop new and appealing dishes for residents.
• Plan schedules and organize the kitchen for efficiency and quality.
• Prepare high-quality dishes and ensure adherence to menus and standards.
• Train kitchen staff to achieve optimum nutrition and enjoyment for residents.
• Maintain order and discipline in the kitchen at all times.
• Prepare complete meals including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, and desserts.
• Ensure presentation and proper plating for residents.
• Maintain sanitized, orderly kitchen and proper food storage.
• Monitor ingredient quality and stock levels; place orders as needed.
