Job summary

Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, A Hilton Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead a high-volume kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef on planning, staffing, and procedures, complete daily requisitions and specials, and assist in hiring, training, and coaching the team.

You’ll drive menu development, manage inventory, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen while ensuring top-quality dishes and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification in culinary/hospitality preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Knowledge of a variety of culinary techniques and cuisines.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage inventory, including ordering and receiving.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities
