Job summary

Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, A Hilton Resort & Spa is seeking a Sous Chef to lead culinary operations in a high-volume, luxury hotel setting. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef on planning, staffing, and procedures, and help drive menu development and quality.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification in culinary field/hospitality preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably hotel/resort.
• Knowledge of various culinary techniques and cuisines.
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily with Executive Chef on planning, staffing and procedures.
• Complete daily food requisitions and daily specials.
• Assist in hiring, training, and coaching the team.
• Contribute to menu development and inventory management.
• Ensure dishes are prepared to high standards and kitchen is organized.
