Job summary

Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, A Hilton Resort & Spa, part of the Davidson Hospitality Group, is seeking a Sous Chef to join our luxury resort culinary team in Carlsbad, CA. You will lead kitchen operations, mentor staff, and contribute to menu development while ensuring top-quality dining experiences for guests.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, excellent communication, and proven expertise in fast-paced resort environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills required.
• Knowledge of diverse culinary techniques and cuisines.
• Ability to manage inventory, including ordering and receiving products.
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations and coordinate with Executive Chef on planning and staffing.
• Assist in hiring, training, and coaching of kitchen staff.
• Oversee menu development, daily food requisitions, and specials.
• Maintain inventory control and ensure dishes are prepared to high standards.
