Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage seeks a Sous Chef for Morrison Healthcare to lead the Culinary Department. You’ll assist in supervision, preparation, and cooking, develop daily menus, and support ordering while working with the Executive Chef.

This role offers opportunity to design culinary programs, manage cost controls, and supervise hourly staff. Candidates should have AS or equivalent, progressive kitchen leadership, and strong computer skills; ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Must be experienced with computers; MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and Internet.
• Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
• ServSafe certified - highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account.
• Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team.
