Sourcing Engineer — Strategic Savings & Suppliers (Stock Grant)

Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Engineer to support the North American compression systems business. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage supplier selection, and work closely with engineering teams to secure cost, quality, and delivery targets.

You will analyze spend data, drive savings opportunities, and guide RFQ processes with internal stakeholders, while building strong supplier relationships to maximize value for Ingersoll Rand and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience of progressively responsible job-related experience.
• 3+ years' experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
• 5+ years' experience well-developed negotiation skills and assessing vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and supplier selection
• Continuously looks for new savings opportunities through analysis of data (spend, purchase price variance, etc.) and hands on review of materials in the production areas.
• Leads Request for Proposal (RFP) process with all stakeholders.
• Works with suppliers and internal team members to qualify new parts.
• Negotiates key items with suppliers including pricing, payment terms, lead time, and inventory programs.
• Records and tracks information as required for timely and accurate measure of performance regarding sourcing activities and savings.
• Support the plants to help local teams efficiently resolve escalated issues.
