Job summary

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Sorting Technician for a Manitowoc, WI manufacturing facility on 2nd shift (3:00pm–1:00am). Wage is $22.00 per hour with potential to hire.

The role involves maintaining equipment, performing preventative tasks, and supporting production workflows to minimize downtime. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical and math skills, ability to read and follow procedures, and safety-conscious work habits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical, mathematical, reading comprehension and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience operating forklift and pallet jack preferred.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive tasks to ensure safety and efficiency standards.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust feeding equipment and mechanical components; operate automated ammunition inspection machines.
• Perform visual checks on parts and use precision measuring instruments.
• Collaborate with leads, supervisors, and team members to optimize production workflows and reduce downtime.
• Maintain cleanliness in and around the work area per safety rules.

Sorting Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and predictive tasks to ensure safety and efficiency standards are met
• Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust feeding equipment and mechanical components to ensure running efficiencies. Utilize procedures to operate automated ammunition inspection machines
• Perform visual checks on parts while also using precision measuring instruments
• Partner with leads, supervisors, and other team members to optimize production workflows and reduce downtime
• Maintain cleanliness in and around your work area to safety rules

Requirements for Sorting Technician:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical, mathematical, reading comprehension and troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrate safe work practices, ability to work independently and within a team environment, and strong communication skills
• Previous experience working in manufacturing preferred
• Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack preferred
• Intellectual curiosity, passion for machinery, positive attitude and self-discipline
• Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to lift, twist, pull, and bend as required
• Able to pass pre-employment screening
• Able to read, write, and speak English
