Responsibilities

• Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards.
• Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases; use case taper.
• Verify material for disposal and regrind; remove recycling tubs from the floor.
• Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels.
• Process skid and hold tags.
• Participate in layered audits and safety programs; wear PPE.
• Identify and communicate deviations or nonconforming product.
• All safety procedures must be followed.

Position Title: Packaging Technician

Wage: $18.25 - $19.35/hour

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Packaging Technician at a company in Madison, WI.

Packaging Technician Responsibilities:

• Inspect and pack product to quality specifications and standards
• Apply case labels and maintain proper numerical sequence of cases. Use case taper to secure cases
• Verify material for disposal and regrind. Remove tubs of recycling material from the Operations floor
• Follow dispatches and print work orders and labels
• Process skid and hold tags
• Actively participate in layered audits
• Identify and communicate deviations or nonconforming product
• Participate in safety programs, follow all established safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE

Requirements for Packaging Technician:

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs continuously (cases of product and hand tools)
• Ability to lift 11-30 lbs regularly (3-4 times per shift)
• Ability to lift 31-50 lbs occasionally (1-2 lbs per shift)
• Ability to work in warm environments
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist and stand for long periods of time
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements
• Basic math skills
• Computer and software skills
